Modern Pakistani Airpower is achieved through a mix of fixed-wing and rotary-wing design originating from a variety of global players with a focus on combat and direct-attack actions backed by a sizeable rotorcraft force. Local industry has begun handling construction of Chinese-originated designs including the JF-17 lightweight multirole fighter. The PAF also welcomes the Chinese J1- into the mix. The force fields the venerable American F-16 Fighting Falcon lightweight multirole fighter as well and this through various production Blocks including Block 52+. Most notable are three aging warplane types in the French Mirage III and Mirage 5 platforms as well as the Chinese F-7 interceptor.
